New Hamburg Mennonite Relief Sale

New Hamburg Mennonite Relief Sale

As a Mennonite I have always known of the Relief and Quilt Sale and so in preparing for this post I had to ask Wikipedia and the MCC Relief Sale Official website to find out about the sale.

New Hamburg Mennonite Relief Sale

It all started in the late 1950’s and has grown over the year to 45 Relief Sales held each year across North America and in 2013 they raised over 5 million dollars in support of Mennonite Central Committee.  MCC is a worldwide ministry of Anabaptist churches who have taken on

Matthew 25:35-36 I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me

as their service mandate.

All over the world MCC works to stand with and bring care to those who are in need if you want to learn more about the projects currently being under taken please visit either the MCC Canada or MCC US website.

As a Russian Mennonite my Grandfather experienced this love through feeding program brought to Russian Mennonite in Russia and through MCC’s support in bringing them to North America.

Relief sales have become a time for families and communities to eat, laugh, admire and bid on hand crafted quilts, woodworking items, all type of hand crafts and plants.
If you get the chance look at the Relief Sale Website and see if there is a Sale near you and then go out and take part in this community event.
